I’ve been running into a weird issue with my Silverado EV, and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced it. Every time I open the frunk using the button on the grille, the alarm goes off.
I walk up to the truck, it’s locked, and I’ve got the remote in my pocket. I press the grille-mounted frunk release, and while it opens fine, the alarm immediately starts blaring.
However, if I unlock the doors first and then open the frunk, no alarm goes off. It’s like the truck doesn’t recognize the grille button as an authorized action unless the doors are already unlocked.
Is this a bug in the programming, or am I missing something? I wouldn’t think it’s user error, but maybe there’s a step I’m overlooking. Would love to hear if anyone else has had this issue or found a workaround.
