When I wear my polarized Smith Basecamp sunglasses, the heads-up display disappears. It seems the HUD’s polarization is causing the issue. If GM rotated the HUD’s polarization by 90 degrees, it wouldn’t be blocked by polarized lenses. I’ve had to tilt my head to see it clearly, but it would be much better if that wasn’t necessary. Thoughts?

Rotating the HUD’s polarization could definitely solve the issue. It’s frustrating when polarization causes visibility problems, especially with something as important as a HUD.

My regular sunglasses for distance work fine. The rearview's clear enough, and I don't need to see anything really small.

Hey! Sounds like GM's HUD is giving your sunglasses a little too much power! If they rotated the polarization, you'd get a clearer view no head tilting required. But until then maybe just rock a new look and start using that head tilt as a cool, mysterious gesture😅

I wonder if rotating the HUD’s polarization would mess with other aspects of the display’s visibility. GM probably set it up this way for a reason, maybe glare reduction?

That said, I’ve run into the same issue with my Oakleys, and tilting my head like a confused dog isn’t a great long-term solution. 😆 Might need to grab a backup pair of non-polarized sunglasses for driving.
