We've got a Rivian R1T and a Duramax veteran here, pulling an Airstream, and the RST's payload is a serious buzzkill. But 1440 lbs seriously? With a 1000 lb tongue weight and two adults, you're left with pocket change for gear. We need 2000+ lbs to make this a viable tow rig, especially if we're chasing that 200-mile range. The advertised 10,000 lb towing is pointless if you can't carry the load. Are we pinning our hopes on the LT and Trail Boss variants, or is GM missing the mark on this one? Anyone have insider info on potential payload improvements? Because right now, the Silverado EV is looking like a tow-capable mirage.

The RST’s 1,440 lbs payload is a real drawback for towing. The 3WT gets 1,750 lbs with a smaller battery, so the LT should be similar, but specs aren’t out yet. Hopefully, GM improves this.

Yeah, the payload definitely limits its towing potential. The 3WT’s slight increase is better, but still not enough for serious hauling. Hopefully, the LT version brings a more realistic payload, or GM might have a hard time competing with the Rivian. Fingers crossed for some specs soon!
