So, I just got my hands on the Chevy Silverado EV, and wow, I’m really blown away. I figured I’d share my initial thoughts with you all since I know this truck has been on a lot of people’s radar. This is my first EV truck, so it’s been a mix of excitement and adjustment.
First off, this thing looks futuristic but still rugged. It’s got a bold stance that screams “truck,” but it also has this streamlined, modern vibe that sets it apart from your traditional gas-powered pickups.
The interior is where I think Chevy really nailed it. It feels spacious and tech-savvy without being overwhelming. The screens are massive and super crisp, and the layout makes it all feel intuitive. I’m used to the roar of a combustion engine, so the silent cabin was a bit eerie at first, but now I find it really calming, perfect for those long drives.
One of the coolest features has to be the Multi-Flex Midgate. It’s such a clever design for anyone who needs to haul longer items. I haven’t fully tested its limits yet, but I love how versatile it makes the truck. The bed space feels huge, and with the midgate, I can basically carry things that wouldn’t normally fit in a regular truck bed.
When it comes to the drive, all I can say is wow. The power is instant, like, you step on the pedal, and it just goes. It’s smooth, responsive, and honestly feels more like a luxury SUV in how it handles. I’m still getting used to the regen braking, though, it’s a bit more aggressive than I expected, but I’ve heard that’s normal for EVs.
The range is another big win for me. Chevy advertises over 400 miles on a full charge, and while I haven’t pushed it to the limits yet, I’m optimistic based on my first few drives. Charging at home has been pretty seamless so far, though I’ll admit I haven’t tested any public charging stations yet.
