I'm so frustrated with how inconsistent my Silverado infotainment system is with text messages. Sometimes I get a preview, other times just the number, and sometimes no sender information at all. It's really annoying having to guess if it's important.

These options all capture the owner's frustration with the inconsistent text message display and clearly state their desire for a more reliable system. Is there any way to make it always show the sender's name and a text preview?

It is not inconsistent. It is just based on what is your driving status. If you are at a red light, you get a preview of the message. If you are in the middle of driving, you won't get one. The infotainment system is smart and thinks about your safety. That's all.
