Has anyone here bought a lithium battery fire extinguisher? Are they actually helpful?

A lithium battery fire extinguisher won’t help much once a cell is already burning, it can’t reach the source. The best thing you can do is move anything flammable away or get the vehicle to a clear spot and let it burn out safely. A regular fire extinguisher is way more useful for cabin or bed fires, and also EVs catch fire way less often than gas cars

EV battery fires are super rare, but when they do happen, they’re an absolute nightmare to put out. The best move? Don’t let it happen in the first place. Avoid parking near anything highly flammable, stay informed about recalls, and take proactive safety measures to minimize risks.

I haven't personally used one, but I’d say it's probably a smart move. Better safe than sorry, especially with the power lithium batteries pack! Plus, it gives peace of mind just in case.

lithium battery fires are rare but is scary thought so those special extinguishers are becoming popular everywhere but no real world use yet.

They're supposed to smother the fire and cool it down but whether they actually work better than a regular extinguisher in a full blown EV battery fire is still up in the air.
