I'm excited to see how the Silverado EV will perform in various scenarios. I'm planning to use mine for:
  • Off-roading to our cabin in the Redwoods.
  • Towing our sailboat and utility trailer.
  • Long-distance road trips and camping.
  • Occasional around-town errands.
Are you leaning towards a specific use case or do you see it as a versatile vehicle for multiple purposes? I'm curious to hear your thoughts on its potential capabilities and limitations.

I see the Silverado EV as the Swiss Army knife of trucks, it can do a little bit of everything. For towing and utility use, the 10,000 lb rating gives it an edge over a lot of other EVs on the market. For off-roading? The four-wheel steering is a game-changer when you’re navigating tight spaces like forest trails. I wouldn’t call it a niche vehicle, it’s more like a modern workhorse that adapts to whatever you need. As long as you plan for charging stops on long trips, you’re set. Plus, it’ll handle errands around town like a pro, no fuel stops, just plug it in when you’re home.

The Silverado EV sounds like it could excel in all those areas...I'm excited to see how it handles off-roading and towing. Do you think the range will be enough for those long-distance trips with the sailboat?

That’s a solid plan for the Silverado EV. I think it’s shaping up to be a do-it-all truck with solid towing capacity, enough off-road capability, and killer range for long trips. Plus, that DC fast charging up to 350kW is a lifesaver when you need to juice up fast. I’m thinking it could be the perfect mix of power and practicality for weekend warriors.
