How much tongue weight does your Silverado need

The range (500 mi), tow capacity (10k), and payload (1750lbs) are solid but the 900lbs tongue weight is a bit of a party pooper. Do you think that’s the culprit? What would you consider a sweet spot for tongue weight?

I don't know if this is the answer you wanted to read, but the ideal tongue weight is around 10-15% of the loaded trailer weight for conventional trailers.

That 900-pound tongue weight is surprisingly low considering the trucks other strong specs. It probably comes down to how they designed the trucks back end and battery setup where they had to trade off some tongue weight for better range and towing. For bigger trailers you;d want a tongue weight closer to 1000-1500 pounds. While 900 pounds works for smaller trailers, it means the truck can't handle the really heavy stuff as well.
