Anyone Keeping Their Old Silverado While Waiting for an EV Upgrade

Been eyeing the EV Silverado lately! I’m currently holding onto my trusty older model (running strong but definitely needing some TLC), and while going electric sounds ideal, the price is, well… definitely a future consideration for me, too. I think by the time I’m actually ready to switch, there might be an even bigger, long-range Silverado EV option, maybe even a 2500 with a crew cab or long box?

Anyone else out there keeping their old Silverado ticking along and waiting to make the EV leap? It’s funny to think about driving these long trips on electric one day, though I wonder if I’ll be able to handle them as well when the time finally comes. Would be interesting to hear from anyone who’s tried both. how does the range compare to the ol’ gas models for those long drives?

My old Silverado has been through a lot with me, and it’s hard to imagine switching until the EVs come down a bit in price or up in range. The idea of an electric 2500 with a long box sounds amazing for road trips and hauling, but I bet we’re a few years off from that. I’m curious about the range too, it’s probably going to be a while before we can do those long hauls as easily as with gas, but the tech is improving fast. Let’s hope Chevy delivers on the EV truck we’ve all been waiting for!

I’m with you! My old Silverado might be clunking along, but it’s hard to say goodbye. When the EV versions get longer ranges, I’ll be all in, hopefully the gas station will miss me

I would never sell my ICE Silverado. It would be better to have both ICE and electric.
