It could work but car companies don't always use numbers in a simple way. They might skip some or have different factories using the same numbers. You'd also need to know when those numbers were used. But if you have enough numbers to look at you could get a general idea.

I highly recommend following what the GM website says. Using an unapproved charger might void the manufacturer’s warranty of your vehicle especially if you’re still in warranty.
